The .airappinstall.log file can reveal the specific issue. The Adobe AIR application installer could've found an instance of Adobe AIR or the Adobe AIR application on a mounted drive other than main drive. Time Machine (10.5.x) could have a backup of the application. Unmount drives other than main drive and retry installation.

CS5 was released in 2010. CS4 was released in 2008. It's unlikely it will run correctly on your 2016 MacBook Air, and if it doesn't you will be on your own, because it has long since reached end of life. Ultimately, Spotify will cease to be supported on 10.5, but not just yet. As an example, We had to "deprecate" Mac OS X 10.4 in a similar way this time last year, but the unupdated application should still work on those systems.
I'm on OSX 10.5.8 and I've followed all the advice on these forums over 10 times. Uninstall reinstall uninstall reinstall over and over. Delete cache files ect over and over. Down load the old version over and over. Restart over and over. Nothing nada zip.
